BOARD OF SELECTMEN MEETING

The meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held at 6:32 pm in the Sharon Town Hall with Chairman Walter “Joe” Roach, Selectman, Selectman William A. Heitin and Town Administrator Benjamin Puritz
Sui-wen L. Yang: Candidate for appointment to the Council on Aging
Ms. Yang said she is a psychiatric social worker and has lived in Sharon for over 25 years. She has been volunteering at the Adult Center for over 5 years serving as a translator in some cases as the Asian population in Sharon has blossomed. She very much would like to serve as a member of Council on Aging Board.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Chairman Roach asked that the vote on the Minutes be held as Selectman Richard Powell was not present as he was stuck in traffic.
BOARDS AND COMMITTEES, SPECIAL POLICE OFFICER AND CROSSING GUARD APPOINTMENTS
Selectman Heitin read the list of Special Police Officer appointments.
VOTED: (Heitin/Roach) Voted unanimously to appoint Maggie Powell, Gale Simpson, Kelly Troy, James Keating, Neil McGrath, David Skulsky – Auxiliary Police, Laura Canavan, Deborah Trask, and Sheila Joyce as
Special Police Officers with a term to expire December 31, 2011
Selectman Heitin read the list of Crossing Guard appointments.
VOTED: (Heitin/Roach) Voted unanimously to appoint Beverly Blackler, Marcia Bloom, Barbara Morrison, Simone Rudinsky, Leah Stella Crossing Guard and Parking Clerk, Andrea Sullivan Crossing Guard fill-in and Carol Griffin-McCourt – Substitute Crossing Guard
